A New Direction: Yoga Tips + Music Curation for Your Yoga Practice
Music and yoga have always gone together for me. It's rare that I practice yoga in silence, sometimes my minimum for background sound is nature sounds. I've enjoyed all kinds of yoga music over the years: kirtan, singing bowls, pop, instrumental, world, and even yoga done to a soundtrack of hip-hop. I've only had one bad expereince—the yoga teacher who played Knights in White Satin during savasana. I was never so offended in my life! 🤣
Music taste is highly subjective and deeply personal. I realize I spend more time than anyone I know listening to music and curating my perfect playlists for yoga practice and every life moment or event that needs a soundtrack. (Hint: it's all life moments that require a soundtrack IMHO).

I'll be sharing my passions for yoga and music from now on, which I hope will spice up your personal practice.

This Week's Music Curation
Be the architect of your own playlist destiny. 🚀

An awesome song about the body, done in a sultry, soul vibe and with "Monumental Confidence" by Nashville's own Kathryn! Listen to her on Season 2, Episode 1 of Radio Detox.
<One of my favorite indie music songs for yoga: MgoldMusic, Flying Elephant
So, there it is! Each week, you'll get a tasty nugget of yoga nourishment from me, along with some new music to discover. I'll include a mix of music genres and places where you can find it. I may even include some music from the "traditional platforms" like Apple or Tidal, but NEVER Spotify as it's the worst.
If I'm to truly practice asteya in yoga, or non-stealing, I can't support Spotify or Ticketmaster. They're ubiquitous and hard to avoid. But it's my hope that consumers are growing more savvy. True music fans will want to support artists. New, open apps like Wavlake and Fountain make this possible. Tidal is even starting to make this possible, which is very exciting. If you have a professionally aspiring musician in your life, tell them about these new apps!
